One of the world's tech giants Microsoft has registered for business in Bangladesh. They took the Business Identification Number (BIN) as a non-resident organization from the Knowledge Tech VAT department on Thursday. Knowledge Tech South Knowledge Tech VAT Commissionerate has given this registration to Microsoft. Use of Singapore Address is registered as Microsoft Regional Sales PTE Limited.

 

As a result of this registration, Microsoft will from now on return VAT as a business doing business in Bangladesh. The Knowledge Tech VAT department will also be able to audit their returns.

 

According to the Knowledge Tech South Knowledge Tech VAT Commissionerate, Microsoft sells software and apps in addition to advertising. In addition, Yahoo's activities are associated with Microsoft. For that, you have to pay VAT on the services provided by Yahoo.

 

Of course, VAT was deducted from Microsoft's services for so long. VAT was deducted when sending Microsoft bills abroad. The bank authorities have automatically deducted 15 per cent Knowledge Tech VAT. If  Knowledge Tech VAT was not deducted, Bangladesh Bank would not allow remittances to that institution abroad. The difference is, from now on he has to pay Knowledge Tech VAT return. In that, Microsoft can be held accountable.

 

By submitting a return every month, Microsoft has to inform the authorities about the amount of money sold in the country and the amount of Knowledge Tech VAT paid against it.

Earlier in June, Facebook and in May, Google and Amazon registered Knowledge Tech VAT.
